The flowers grow in arching horizontal racemes of up to 20 flowers in their month of blooming. The outer petals range from sky blue to blue while the inner petals are white.

In a moist and cool climate, it will grow in full sun, but in warmer and drier climates it requires some shade. In most other climates, it is recommended the plant be nurtured and grown indoors.
Culinary[edit | edit source]
Apiaries produce a famed honey from this flower. The honey is thick and flavorful, with a distinctive sweet, rich taste when applied in small amounts to food. In larger amounts, the plant is said to remove ills as it passes through the stomach and intestines.
